Our Story
We are a family of veterinarians.
Our founder, Dr. Ronald L. Schueler, began the practice from his Eldersburg home, and through his hard work and devotion, the hospital has grown into the current state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Ron’s daughter, Dr. Karen joined the hospital in 1999, and now continues the family tradition of personalized care.

Our Team
We couldn’t provide the excellent level of care that our patients know and expect without the work of our incredible staff.

Our Hospital
We have a clean and modern facility, fully stocked with advanced diagnostic tools including digital radiology, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, digital dental radiology, advanced surgical monitoring and support equipment. If we would want it for our pet, it is here for yours.
How We Operate
Industry best practices are our standard. We play calming music, keep cats and dogs in separate exam rooms, know how to approach fearful animals, and employ less-is-more restraint techniques. We also utilize heated surgical and recovery beds to keep your pet as comfortable as possible during and after procedures.
We strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible, utilizing Energy Star compliant appliances and office equipment and employing a “paper-light” practice.

Intern Program
South Carroll Veterinary Hospital is committed to empowering the next generation of veterinarians and technicians. Our interns have gone on to earn their veterinary degrees and start their own professional careers.
We have a pipeline of individuals across the spectrum from high school to practitioners, and we are thrilled to assist them as they advance and develop into young professionals.
